Privacy policy

Last updated: August 26, 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how Just PC's CC (“JUST PC's”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you visit or use justpcs.co.za (the “Services”), in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

Who We Are

Just PC's CC is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice. We are a close corporation registered in South Africa (registration number 2004/060554/23), with our registered address at Unit 5, Brackengate Business Park, 6 Paris Road, Brackenfell, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7560, South Africa. Our Information Officer can be contacted at support@justpcs.co.za or 021 905 8874.

Personal Information We Collect

  • Contact details — your name, billing and delivery address, phone number, and email address.

  • Order and payment information — the items you purchase, order history, and payment confirmation details. We do not store your full card number; payments are processed directly by our payment provider.

  • Account information — your username, password, and account preferences, if you create an account.

  • Communications — the content of enquiries or support requests you send us.

  • Device and usage information — your IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the Services, collected automatically.

Why We Collect It, and Whether It's Required

Providing your contact, delivery, and payment information is necessary to place and fulfil an order — without it, we cannot process your purchase or deliver your goods. Providing marketing preferences or an account is optional.

  • To fulfil your order: to process payment, arrange delivery or collection, provide warranty and after-sales support, and handle returns and refunds.

  • To communicate with you: order confirmations, delivery updates, and responses to your enquiries.

  • For marketing (only where you have opted in): to send you offers and updates. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

  • For security and fraud prevention: to protect the Services and detect fraudulent transactions.

  • To comply with the law: including our obligations under the Consumer Protection Act, VAT Act, and other applicable South African legislation (for example, retaining invoice records for tax purposes).

Who We Share It With

We disclose personal information only where necessary, to:

  • Our delivery and courier partners — limited to the name, delivery address, and contact number needed to deliver your order.

  • Our payment processor, to complete your transaction.

  • Shopify Inc., which hosts and powers this store, and processes personal information on our behalf to provide the Services. Shopify's own handling of data is described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy (shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users).

  • A professional advisor, auditor, or regulator, or another party, where required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not transfer it outside South Africa except where a service provider named above (such as Shopify) processes it as part of providing the Services, in which case we rely on that provider's contractual and security safeguards.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your personal information secure and to prevent unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure, consistent with POPIA section 19. No system is perfectly secure, and we recommend you avoid sending highly sensitive information to us over unsecured channels.

How Long We Keep It

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described above, including the retention periods required for tax and accounting records under South African law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Your Rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, and to access it;

  • Ask us to correct or update inaccurate or outdated personal information;

  • Ask us to delete personal information we no longer have a lawful basis to hold;

  • Object to our processing of your personal information for direct marketing purposes, at any time and free of charge;

  • Withdraw any consent you have given us, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer at support@justpcs.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before actioning your request.
